Hospital anyone?

What can I say? When it rains, it pours! I received a phone call from Trey on Friday afternoon telling me my dad had been in a motorcycle accident. Trey and my Dad had a "guys" weekend planned and were just beginning the ROT rally festivities. A car pulled out in front of another car which forced everyone to slam on their brakes. Dad apparently clipped the back end of a Toyota Cruiser and fell off the bike. I had to call my mom and get her into the emergency room. Once we (Mom, Grace, and I) got there, we learned that Dad was ok. He had a broken collar bone, a little bit of bleeding on his brain, and what looked like an old fracture of the C6 vertebrae. Wow! I wonder when that happened? Long story short, Dad spent the entire weekend in the hospital. My mom had to go up to Indiana to wrap up her job there, so I forced her to leave my dad in my care. Trey and I brought Dad back home today. He didn't do bad considering it was his first time ever having surgery and first time ever staying in the hospital. I think between Mom's seizure, her surgery, my bedrest and labor, and Dad's accident, we've have more than enough of medical emergencies and hospitals! WHEW! Maybe we've met our quota for a while.

The motorcycle appeared to be ok, according to Trey. We need to go pick it up at the impound lot tomorrow. Dad's hoping to get back on a motorcycle soon, hopefully a Harley, but we'll see. Mom's not too keen on the idea yet.

For the time being, Dad's a little sore, but is going to be fine. Trey and I will make sure he doesn't do anything stupid while Mom's out of town. She'll be back this weekend and will start her new job on Monday.

Grace has been great throughout this entire ordeal. She is such a good baby. I can take her just about anywhere and she'll just look around until she falls asleep. In fact, she fell asleep on Dad's hospital bed last night. She held her bottle by herself this afternoon for the first time. I was so excited! She isn't rolling over yet and she isn't crawling. I don't think she'll crawl. She might just start walking, as much as she likes standing up!

12 weeks old

This is my new favorite picture! She's such a daddy's girl!

Lucky to have such loving grandparents
Hello everyone!
Trey took Grace out to see his parents on Sundays after church for most of May. Things were so crazy for me with final exams, wrapping up the year-end paperwork, and trying to juggle full time work and mommy duty, he took Grace off of my hands for the day so I could relax and get some things done. He 's such a great daddy!
I'm home for the summer now. I'm looking forward to spending as much time as I can with Gray. She's growing and changing so fast!
